Fortune's expensive Smile
Identified only in foresight,
Can be dull or bright,
This is called luck.

WE MUST STOP SELLING OURSELVES TO RECESSION-STRUCK WESTERN COUNTRIES WHO ARE IN SEARCH OF PROFITS FROM INDIA AND WE SHOULD STOP OUR QUEST FOR NUCLEAR ENERGY. BY ARINDAM CHAUDHURI
I have heard that in African countries, hunters find it tough to catch monkeys and in order to do so successfully, they place a jar with a small opening filled with nuts near the trees. The jar is so designed that it allows a monkey’s hand to go inside, but once in, the monkey finds it difficult to take it out. Most of the time, the monkey stays there as it is unwilling to let go of the nuts. These peanuts which trap a monkey are actually unrealistic desires of this animal! This

Valentine’s Day, one of the favorite days in an year for all, especially for youngsters it is an occasion to celebrate; it could be sending flowers, gifts or anything which serves as a token of love. There are many who find love, many still waiting for miracles to happen and few others like me who think that miracle could be in any form, it can be a blissful experience in form of a small meeting with a girl, a funny incident interwoven around so called crush or anything worth remembering. So on obvious note Valentine’s Day too takes me to my old memories down the lane which I haven’t shared with anyone as I always felt that this is too personal and wanted to preserve those sweet innocent moments. But today I feel like sharing an episode of my life, it is one of those episodic moments which make an indelible impression on your psyche, still fresh and reminiscent of not so boring life.

We both had built this bridge over the current of time
On pebbles of my initial swervings, your killing eye lashes,
With bricks of my hopes, your pride (like a saplings'),
Set cautiously like chosen soldiers for a war,
Who, when dead, would let their maker walk on them,
To the other side, reminding of old courtship.

Director - Anand Rai
Director Aanand Rai’s directorial debut, ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ has been declared a hit. So shocked was I after reading this piece of information that I decided to write down why I think the only reason this film is doing well is because apparently these days, this film is the only respite from cricket.

Arindam Chaudhuri Analyses Why BJP should not and cannot afford to give up the demand for a JPC Probe
Rs. 1,76,000 crores and counting! The scam is the biggest in the country ever – or rather, the sum total of all the other scams (that have been exposed) put together, multiplied by two and more! If not a joint parliamentary committee probe now, then when? A great democracy is one with a thriving opposition. After the last elections, I had raised a question. Is this the end of the road for the BJP for long? It looked so. BJP was stuck on its Hindutva mantra, while the Congress promised youth, which looked progressive and could connect with the masses better! After all,

When I was growing up in one of the better schools of Delhi, it was most common to see teachers slapping students. Scales being broken on our knuckles was as common a sight too, and as early as in class fifth, though luckily I always escaped. When I reached class sixth, I wasn’t that lucky. In one of the sculpture classes, an assistant came around and with his hard hands, slapped me hard on my head, because in all my creative excitement, I was engaged in talking to my friend Partho Saha, who was someone I looked up to when it came to creativity (I still do; and today he heads most of our technology projects at Planman, along with being a

“I don’t like this at all” Moti said with a whiff.
“Why, what happened?” asked Sonu.
“These humans are no good, why they mix all the things, have to dig even for small little grain” Moti said grudgingly.
“And over it we are the last ones, see Bunkoo he is almost full.” Sonu exclaimed.
“But I am big and strong so I need to feed myself before you skinned, good for nothing creatures” Bunkoo said haughtily.

Movie - Guzaarish
Actors - Hrithik Roshan, Ashwarya Rai & Others
Director - Sanjay Leela Bhansali
I will begin with a disclaimer- those who haven’t watched this movie should beware of spoilers! This article is more of a critique than a review.
Of all the movies I have reviewed so far, I find Guzaarish the most difficult to comment on. Because I cant make up my mind about this film. In my experience, if you don’t know whether you like a film or not, it is difficult to critique it. A bit of a paradox since objectivity is sort of key in this entire endeavor. But its true nevertheless.
